My Summer Plans

In addition to two fabulous vacations I have planned, the dates and locations of which I am not allowed to share until after the fact in the interests of safety and security, I will be working at several summer camps in the coming weeks.

Two of these camps are short English-only camps for students from all over Jordan that will be held close to popular tourist locations. At these I'll be teaching Drama and Environmental English in the mornings and try to stay cool in the upwards of 50 degree Celsius (122 Fahrenheit) heat in the afternoons. I should also find time before or after the camps to enjoy some of the amazing sites Jordan has to offer and I'll be sure to share pictures when I have them.

A third camp, I will be leading for a week in my village for 9th-11th grade boys from my school. This camp, focusing on critical thinking skills, is known as Brain Camp. I would love to describe it in more detail here, but I will respectfully defer to Thomas Friedman in his Sunday New York Times Op-Ed piece:
